Perhaps Dunedin's most popular tour is Cadbury's chocolate factory tour (at least it was as far as our 10 & 12 yr old nephews were concerned !). Needless to say it included free chocolate.

The Speight's Heritage Centre also runs daily tours of the historic Speight's Brewery, a museum and fully working brewery.

Visitors learn all about chocolate.

Its history and the chocolate making process - the gradual refinement of coca beans into the product that we know and (alas !) love.

You'll tour the factory and see Cadbury products actually being made.

And just for fun there's a chocolate waterfall: one ton of milk chocolate falling 30ft in less than 10secs...


 
  THE SPEIGHT'S BREWERY HERITAGE CENTRE  
  Still on the site that it has occupied since 1876, Speight's Brewery has become one of Dunedin and Otago's biggest icons.

This fascinating tour leads you through a working brewery and museum for a product which is a passionate part of the history and culture of southern New Zealand.

And needless to say it includes a wee tasting...
