Directions

Highland Peaks is located to the south of Dunedin.  We are 5 minutes from Mosgiel, 20 minutes from the Airport, and 5 minutes off the Southern Motorway.

Traveling from Christchurch and the north, you drive through Dunedin City and continue south on the Southern Motorway, heading towards Invercargill.

Traveling from Queenstown, Te Anau, Wanaka or the south, you head north towards Dunedin City.

1.  On the Southern Motorway
(State Highway 1) take the Mosgiel exit ramps, then turn towards Kinmont Park.

Coming from Dunedin this is a left hand turn to Kinmont Park: from Queenstown & the South, this is a right hand turn after you have taken the off ramp.  There is a small roundabout at the start of Quarry Road.  You turn towards the hills and away from Mosgiel.

2.  Travel along Quarry Road for 700 m and continue left where it merges with Morris Road.

Blue signposts also point towards Fairfield.
Morris Road then bends to the left and continues back across the motorway on an overpass.

3.  200 m after the overpass, turn sharp left into Chain Hills Road.

This is the first road to the left.  Make a sharp left hand U turn and the road immediately begins to climb.  Continue along Chain Hills Road until you reach a T junction after a couple of km (roughly 3-4 minutes drive).

4.  Turn left at T junction and go to the end of the road.

You turn left off the tarseal onto a graded gravel road at the turnoff.   Highland Peaks is close to the end of the road on the left, 900 m from the turnoff.
